Micrsoft Office 365 Preview Rescheduled for October 14th

Our TeleTech, Microsoft Office 365 Preview has been rescheduled for Tuesday, October 14th. If your district is currently using or considering Office 365, you won't want to miss this program!

Want to move Office to the Cloud?  Check out what Microsoft 365 offers during this feature overview.  Office 365 is a subscription-based system and depending on which plan is activated may include Microsoft Office applications such as, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access, and OneNote. Other 365 services include cloud storage, hosted e-mail, file transfer facilities, and free calls with Skype.  Office 365 lets you access your files from anywhere – from desktop, mobile, tablet and even from the web browsers.  Get started using Office Online!

Each TeleTech session is video streamed meaning you can watch it directly on your computer screen, your iPad or Android tablet, your smartphone, or connect it to a projector for the entire staff to watch.  Sessions will have a chat feature where you can ask questions directly to the instructor.  Once you are registered for a topic, the main contact will be emailed a user name and password for that day which can be distributed to all of the staff in a building or across the whole district. edcamp Dub C - A FREE "Unconference" is October 4th!

SOITA, along with the Region 14 State Support Team, Wilmington College, CET, and SWOCA is co-organizing edcamp DubC, an unconference on Saturday, October 4, 2014. The edcamp will be held on the campus of Wilmington College and in the edcamp style, the agenda and discussion will be decided by the attendees. All educators, including administrators, veteran educators, and pre-service teachers are encouraged to attend. 


Registration is free, but to reserve your spot, it is recommended you register for a free ticket prior to the date.

The Intro to Google Drive class that was originally scheduled for September 26th has been rescheduled to Friday, October 10th, 2014. If your school is going Google, you won't want to miss this workshop!

SOITA is currently looking for schools/teachers to help us pilot a new delivery method for our Video Conferencing Programs! No video conferencing equipment necessary. All you need is a webcam, microphone, and a screen to view the program on.

During this pilot we are featuring two of our popular Content for Students programs, Kids Rock! and Place Value and Number Sense:
Kids Rock! A Look at Rocks

Grade Level:  3-4
Subject Area:  Science
Description:  Want to learn some fun facts about rocks?  In this session students will make observations about different types of rocks, and learn how they are formed.  We’ll also look at how different rocks are used.
 Place Value and Number Sense

Grade Level:  2-3
Subject Area:  Mathematics
Join us for a fun way to learn and review place value concepts.  Students will explore whole numbers, review place values up to the ten thousands, and work with base-10 blocks.
