Looking for something new? SOITA is offering a variety of NEW workshops including some great Learn With It/Leave With it options. See below for some of our new titles!



Interested in becoming more confident using Google Apps for Education in your classroom?  Want to distinguish yourself as a GAFE leader in your school or district?  This two-day class will cover the fundamentals training to help you prepare for the Google Certified Educator Level 1 exam.  Learn some of the best strategies for integrating Google into your classroom
Prerequisites: Participants should be familiar with Google Apps for Education



Ready to take your certification to the next level?  This advanced two-day class will teach you ways to harness the full power Google’s resources to optimize both your efficiency and your students’ learning. 
Prerequisites: Participants should have previously completed the coursework for Level 1, or attended SOITA's Google Certified Educator Institute - Level 1.



It’s never too early to begin learning to code! Join us as we explore websites, hands-on activities, and even learn to program your own tiny robot. Teach your students the skills of tomorrow, today!

LWI/LWI iPad Pro - October 21st
Love the iPad but looking for something with a little more oomph? The iPad Pro provides the easy portability of a tablet without compromising power.  Learn about the multitasking features and how the iPad Pro can be your next computer.  

Participants will receive the iPad Pro (options available for display size and storage), Smart Keyboard, and Apple Pencil.
The Cricut Explore Air will be your favorite classroom tool!  Easily create manipulatives, decor, and more for your classroom! Learn how to use the Cricut Design Space to connect either your computer or tablet and begin creating.   We will explore ready-made designs as well as create customized items.  

Participants will receive a Cricut Explore Air™ electronic cutting machine with embedded                                                     Bluetooth® for wireless cutting as well as Cricut accessories and materials. 



LWI/LWI iPad Apps for Coding & Creativity - December 2nd
iPads and coding are a natural combination! In this class participants will learn how to utilize various apps and tools to making learning to code, interactive, exciting, and most of all fun! 

Participants will receive Osmo’s The Complete Kit featuring three games and four hands-on activities including the coding kit.

Math is Spooktacular! - October 28th & 31st

Don’t let math spook you! Join us for this fun and festive program featuring Common Core Standards aligned problems and activities. Students will “Trick or Treat” with instructors, telling time, working through word  and geometry problems, and even learning a little bit about Halloween. Don’t miss out on this hair-raising, mathematical Halloween celebration!

Your Voice, Your Choice! - Election Day - November 7th & 8th

It’s an election year! Evaluating candidates can be overwhelming.  Learn how to make a good decision by understanding what makes a good leader.  Find out more about the election process and join us as we cast our vote!

Thanksgiving is the day we remember all we have to be thankful for. Join us as we learn about the very first Thanksgiving, find out where our holiday traditions come from, and share our reasons to be grateful. This program is chock-full of fun, friendship, and a whole lot of thankfulness - Don’t miss it!

Christmas Around the World - December 19th & 20th
What do you do on Christmas morning?  Do you run to see what Santa has left for you?  Christmas is a big celebration for many people.  It is celebrated in many countries.  The types of celebrations and the traditions are different for people of various cultures.  Even Santa has different names and looks!  Join us as we explore the many traditions for celebrating Christmas around the world!

Are You a Google Apps for Education Domain Admin? SOITA is Offering Workshops Just for You!

Once again this summer, SOITA is offering a series of workshops specifically geared toward domain Admins. These courses are taught by Brian Dittfeld, Technology Director for Indian Valley Local Schools.  He is also an authorized Google Education Trainer and Google Certified Administrator. Indian Valley Local Schools has 1:1 programs in grades 4-12 with a majority of those devices being Chromebooks.  They also have 200 GPFE tablets in their K-2 classrooms.

Whether you are looking to improve communication with parents, provide resources for students or post assignments and activities for classes, clubs or calamity days, Google Sites can be tailored to suit your needs. Learn how to create Google Sites that take advantage of the many resources Google has to offer. Participants are asked to come prepared with an idea for their website as well as any media, images or documents they would like to include.
