Program Description

In America we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with parades and the Wearin’ O’ the Green. However, many of us do not know why! Take a virtual journey to Ireland to learn more about its mystical isles, patron saint, fairies and folklore. Pin on a shamrock and join us as we discover how these traditions emigrated from Ireland to America.

PBS Edcamp Dayton

ThinkTV , in partnership with Wright State University, will host
PBS Edcamp Dayton,  a participant-driven professional development event for K-3 educators.  Participating educators will have the opportunity to collaborate around common goals and challenges through topics they select on the day of the event.  Edcamp participants will walk away with resources and ideas they can immediately integrate into their classrooms. 

PBS Edcamp Dayton will be held on Saturday, February 3,
2018 at the Nutter Center.  Wright State University College of Education and Human Services is the host for the PBS Edcamp Dayton. This is a free event, open to all kindergarten through grade 3 teachers, administrators and pre-service teachers.

What is Edcamp?

Edcamp is an unconference; a participant-driven professional development event for educators.

Unlike a typical conference, Edcamp educators decide the session topics on the day of the event.

Tuesday, December 5, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
FREE Event for all parents, community members,
educators, and students for Grades K-5 in Ohio!

The kickoff will take place at SOITA on December 5, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Pizza and drinks provided!  
Please register so that we are sure to have plenty of food and drink!

The ‘Hour of CodeTM’ is a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week[] and Code.
org[] to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming.
