About
SOITA provides a variety of services to public school districts in west central and southwestern Ohio. Many private schools, parochial schools, and universities are also served. We are assisted by an Advisory Board made up of area administrators.
Our mission at SOITA is to provide area educators instructional technology services that will assist them in optimizing student learning and achievement.
Our staff includes full-time consultants responsible for teaching workshops and graduate classes on curriculum integration, productivity tools, and 21st century skills.
Located in Dayton just off 35, SOITA has a Google Chromebook lab and a Windows lab, as well as a studio dedicated to interactive video distance learning and video stream production. We conduct technology integration classes both at our SOITA labs and on-site for the over 1,300 schools that we serve.
In 2017, SOITA merged with ThinkTV, public television in Dayton, and SOITA's services to school districts became a service of Public Media Connect, ThinkTV's parent organization.
SOITA is partially funded by the Ohio Department of Education and membership fees. SOITA is affiliated with the Montgomery County ESC.
